Motor Boat "Shetlender"

The motor workboat/cruiser "Shetlender" was built, to a Norwegian design, in Lerwick for Reidar Vetvik, then in charge of the Norwegian welfare organisation known as the Havly, which was (and maybe still is) based in the town.  Since then, she has changed hands a few times, and is now owned by Lerwick businessman Bert Anderson.

It was as a present to him that Ian Johnston and Jim Moar commissioned this oil painting on hardboard, measuring 24 x 18 inches.  She is pictured coming in past the Bressay Lighthouse.
